How to Organise a Stay-in Hen Do During this Time of Uncertainty?

With all that wedding planning, coordinating the seating arrangement, finding the perfect dress and cake, the wedding week or month can be one of the most exhausting time in a bride-to-be’s life. It drains all the energy out of the bride-to-be and leaves her exhausted by the time the big day arrives.

As the maid of honour, you are entitled to plan a hens party that’s relaxing yet fun for the bride-to-be. What about a stay-in hen do? With social distancing and staying at home becoming our new normal, it’s wise to organise a stay-in hen do for the bride-to-be. So, here we’ve come up with a few tips that help you to plan a hens party without stressing the bride, or spending loads of money on travel costs.

Sleepover

Organising sleepovers with lots of snacks, ice creams, gossiping, and watching romantic movies was one of the all-time favourite things when we were in high school. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you can do it again now? Invite your bride tribe, plan some hens games and activities, serve savoury snacks, and have fun all day.

Pot-luck Dinner

A pot-luck is a great way to ensure that you have lots of food when you are chatting and having fun with your gal pals. It also takes all the stress out of your shoulder to put together a meal to satisfy a group of starving women. Moreover, with a delicious pot-luck dinner, you can have more varieties and have a good conversation with your gal pals.

A Pamper Party

A little bit of pampering after weeks of a stressful wedding planning is what the bride-to-be needs. All you have to do is to book a service with a therapist who will come to your place to help all the hens unwind and relax.

Pool Party

If you can find a house with a pool, your group is lucky enough to have a pool party. Resting on the lounge chairs, sipping cocktails, wearing hens night sashes, playing with inflatable pool toys and more can add fun to your hens party.

Clothes Swap Party

If you are planning a clothes swap party, inform your guests via the invitation that they are going to take part in it and ask them to bring only clean clothes that are in good condition. Once the guests have arrived, ask them to place the clothes around the venue for everyone to see, and ask each guest to choose one (use a fair system to decide who goes first, second, and next). You can make this party a great event to remember by serving delicious food platters, wine, organising photo booth, and more.

The Bottom Line

No matter whatever theme you choose, one of the most important things to consider is to have fun. So, make sure to buy cute hens party supplies and decorations that add more fun to the party.
